Lagoon Playgroup is a parent participation preschool where families take part in the program alongside their children. The program uses a beautiful outdoor classroom that offers many daily opportunities for children to engage in hands-on learning and to explore and discover their natural environment. The environment supports a culture of self-discovery, problem solving, and inquiry.

The mission of Lagoon Playgroup is to inspire children to become creative and independent problem solvers. The program is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child’s needs are respected and where play and project-based learning are used to support self-discovery. The program also strives to develop a collaborative community among children and their families, and it values parent participation as something that adds richness to the program. According to the Florez Family, “The lagoon is a magical place because it is an oasis committed to celebrating and developing the natural gifts of childhood: curiosity, creativity, exploration, friendships, and unbridled emotions of all kinds…especially FUN! The world would be a better place if all children got to experience what our littles have at the Lagoon with Ms. Adrianna and Ms. Katy.”
