About
Align Ballet Method – Children and Teen Vaganova Ballet Classes Los Angeles offers ballet instruction that is connected to a broader program including basic ballet classes, intermediate ballet workshops, pointe classes and workshops, and floor barre. The wider Align Ballet Method program also includes adult beginner ballet workshops called Align 1 and Align 2, as well as special workshops such as jumps – petite & grand allegro, pirouettes, Port de bas & Pas de Bourrée, and Waltz & Grand Allegro, along with virtual classes.
• Schedule: Align 1 adult beginner ballet workshops meet for 6 classes in 6 weeks, 1 hour per week; Align 2 adult beginner ballet workshops meet 1 hour per week and immediately follow Align 1; basic semesters generally run 2–3 months, are purchased in blocks, and are attended over 2–4 months.
• Price: $129 monthly unlimited complimentary weekday classes (Monday–Friday) at the main location with a $5 discount on weekend classes; first open basic class is $5; first open intermediate class is $5.
The Align 1 adult beginner course has trained thousands of students since 2011 and is described as similar to training at great ballet company schools but streamlined for adult beginners. The process for Align 1 and basic semester material is described as intuitive and easy to follow, and basic semesters are described as closed basic workshops that build small adult ballet communities at local dance studio partners where strong bonds form between students and instructors are able to deeply coach each individual. Open basic and open intermediate classes feature live piano on weekends, and all classes at the main Beverly Hills studio are taught by compassionate former professionals. Align provides classes from Noho to Newport, and beginning pointe and beginner pointe workshops are offered to start pointe training, with The Prima Club described as a supportive community and brand for dancers.
The founder and CEO of the ALIGN Ballet Method is Michael Cornell. Michael Cornell studied classical ballet at the National Academy of the Arts, had a 10-year career with BalletMet dancing leading roles, later became a certified fitness trainer, and has taught on-camera segments for Pauly D from MTV’s Jersey Shore, the women of WWE on E!’s Total Divas, and Liza Koshy. Instructor Ishaun Jackson-Moaney is a 2023 graduate of Fordham University/The Ailey School with a BFA in Dance, began training at The Lula Washington Dance Theatre, trained at Align Ballet Method during high school, received scholarships for intensives at The Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Jacob Jonas The Company, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and guested with The Dance Theatre of Harlem to perform Geoffrey Holder’s “Dougla” for their New York City Center Vision Gala. Instructor Camille Goldsborough is a professional ballerina based in Los Angeles, is currently a Soloist with Hollywood Ballet, has danced with The Los Angeles Ballet and the International Ballet of Ukraine touring Switzerland, France, and Germany in productions of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet with additional training at Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and the Vaganova Academy in Russia, and is the founder of The Prima Club.
