Benção Brasil Cultural Center Capoeira Programs offers Capoeira classes that include traditional music, culture, dance, and martial arts, following a style known as Capoeira Contemporânea (Contemporary Capoeira). The program also includes annual festivals and workshops, community programming, teaching residencies, international cultural exchanges, performances, and Capoeira in schools. Benção Brasil runs a scholarship program that supports participation for at-risk and needy youth, and also takes part in Summer Night Lights programming.

Founded in 1998 by Mestre Boneco, Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles (CBLA) is the official headquarters of Grupo Capoeira Brasil, and Benção Brasil Cultural Center was founded in 2002. Mestre Boneco is a world-renowned Capoeira master and co-founder of Grupo Capoeira Brasil, one of the largest Capoeira organizations globally, with instructors in more than 40 countries. Benção Brasil Cultural Center is a 501 c(3) non-profit partner of Capoeira Brasil and is committed to bringing Brazilian culture and the art of Capoeira to communities in Southern California. The organization states a mission to promote self-confidence, respect, and tolerance through athletics and culture, and it offers classes, community programming, teaching residencies, international cultural exchanges, workshops, festivals, and performances. Benção Brasil directs tax-deductible donations to memberships and uniforms for needy and at-risk youth, plane tickets and fees for visiting teachers, and musical instruments and teaching equipment.
For classes, participants are asked to wear clean white Capoeira pants (abadas), a cord, and a Capoeira or white t-shirt, with Capoeira street pants allowed on Fridays and Saturdays. First-time students can wear regular athletic gear, and new students have two months to buy a Capoeira Brasil uniform and are asked to wear proper athletic undergarments. No street shoes are allowed on the training floor.
