Camp Bravo was founded in 1994. In 1994, theatre professionals and teachers David Krassner and Artur Cybulski created Camp Bravo to meet a need in the performing arts education space for collaborative, non-competitive learning. Camp Bravo is designed to provide young people, ages 12–18, interested in the performing arts with a beautiful outdoor setting and a safe non-competitive environment in which to immerse themselves in the thrill of performing. It provides an immersive experience in a beautiful Southern California mountain location for middle and high school students to feel safe to explore the creative arts and, by doing so, nurtures undeveloped talents and new self esteem.

Camp Bravo is taught by seasoned professionals. The Camp Bravo team of theatre professionals also provides free classroom workshops to Southern California teachers. In a collaboration with Cal State Fullerton, students are also able to earn college credit from summer camp.

Camp Bravo is a non-profit 501c3. Camp Bravo alumni include GRAMMY nominated recording artists and EMMY nominated choreographers. The program describes itself as a California theatre summer camp where every young person can feel safe nurturing their talents, with a safe atmosphere for students of all backgrounds and skill levels. It emphasizes collaborative, non-competitive learning, theatre-based community-building activities, and taking away modern technology, judgment, pressure, and any chance of failure, and notes that campers create life-long personal and professional bonds and that most campers continue to further their Camp Bravo story by participating in alumni events for years to come.
