Hope Street Margolis Family Center Early Childhood Care and Education offers education, home visiting, recreation, outdoor play, and multipurpose sports for young children. Hope Street Margolis Family Center Early Childhood Care and Education is part of a family-centered community health and wellness program of Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center. Hope Street provides whole-child, family-centered care through education, home visiting, recreation, and other services for children 0–18. The program operates four licensed child development centers that serve children 0–5 of all abilities, along with a network of 10 licensed family child care providers offering developmentally enriched childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, supported through training and assistance. The staff are described as highly trained, and the classrooms are described as high quality, supporting what the program calls world class early childhood services in downtown Los Angeles. The mission of Hope Street is to educate children, strengthen families, and transform the community. California Hospital Medical Center has served Los Angeles since 1887, and in 1992 it collaborated with the University of California Los Angeles to establish Hope Street Margolis Family Center, which opened its current center in 2013 after expanding into the community and building four child care centers over 30 years.
