High School Open House

About
High School Open House is a full-day event that includes scholarship auditions and interviews, workshops, facilities tours, a pizza dinner social, and a special invited dress rehearsal performance of the musical "Godspell." Students can take part in acting scholarship auditions, dance scholarship auditions, design/tech scholarship interviews with an optional portfolio review, and theatre education scholarship interviews that include a performance or presentation component. The day also includes registration, a welcome ceremony, lunch, a pre-show discussion with Director J. Daniel Herring, and attendance at the final dress rehearsal of "Godspell."
• Ages: 16–18 years old
• Schedule: One-day event running from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, including registration, welcome ceremony, scholarship auditions and interviews, facility tours, lunch, workshops, pizza social and town hall meeting, pre-show discussion, and final dress rehearsal
The event is organized by the Fresno State Theatre and Dance department leadership team, including Faculty Coordinator Nicola Olsen, Advisor for all Theatre Arts emphasis Melissa Gibson, Advisor for Dance Kenneth Balint, and Director of the musical "Godspell" J. Daniel Herring. All Fresno State programs and activities are open and available to all regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin. The Fresno State Jazz Orchestra has been recognized in DownBeat Magazine for its “Undergraduate College Outstanding Performance” in its 48th annual Student Music Awards.
