West Coast Falconry

West Coast Falconry offers hands-on experiences such as the Basic Falconry Lesson, Owl Encounter, Triple Raptor Experience, Falcon Excursion, Hawk Walk, Private Raptor Outing, Private Triple Raptor Experience, Raptor Meet and Greet, Summer Camp, The Falconry Experience, and falconry classes for beginners. Classes and experiences allow students to fly and/or hold raptors, and every interaction covers the natural history of birds of prey, their role in the environment, and conservation efforts such as saving the Peregrine falcon from extinction. All activities, except the Raptor Meet and Greet, include flying interaction with trained raptors, and the Raptor Meet and Greet experience is open to all ages.

West Coast Falconry states the mission “Preservation through Education.” The program is led by Owner and Master Falconer, Kate Marden. All classes require two participants except the Owl Experience or private classes, non-participant observers must leave the premises for the duration of the class, and no pets are allowed with no exceptions. Educational demonstrations can be tailored to suit any size and age group, and the Private Raptor Outing is for private groups of 1 to 4 people. Falconry is described as the most highly regulated field sport in the United States. West Coast Falconry reports over 300 five-star reviews on Tripadvisor. One reviewer, Willa M., describes taking each of her six grandchildren individually to the basic class and states that the three who have gone so far have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
