About

Camp Galileo offers hands-on STEAM projects, design challenges, and building projects that include engineering launchers and engineering golf-courses. Camp Galileo’s curriculum is created by a year-round team of teachers, artists, makers, and engineers, and combines hands-on projects with outdoor fun for kids in grades K–10. Nebula campers (K–1st) and Star campers (2nd–3rd) work on 1–2 day, age-appropriate projects individually and in small groups, while Supernova campers (4th–5th) complete small group challenges and longer individual projects. Middle school Meteors (6th–8th) focus on one individual project throughout the week, and Counselors in Training engage in leadership development activities and own projects within a camp aspect of their choosing. Campers take a nut-free snack break during the camp day.

For over 20 years, families have been coming back to Galileo, which operates award-winning summer camps and expanded learning programs in more than 90 communities and has served over 570,000 young innovators and awarded over 49,000 scholarships. Galileo operates award-winning summer camps with high-quality curriculum, enthusiastic staff, hands-on projects, and classic camp fun. The organization states that its imagination-sparking curriculum unlocks the innovation skills kids need to thrive and persist in the face of challenges, and that it is so much more than a summer camp.

Parents describe Camp Galileo as a joyful environment with counselors, projects, games, and activities that their children look forward to each summer. One parent reports that their kids come home thinking more independently and deeply than before, and another notes that their daughter had a lot of fun building things and making new friends in an exciting educational experience with a lot of engagement and learning. A parent from Manhattan Beach shares that their kids loved the building projects, are still singing songs from camp, and that their family plans to return next summer for longer.
