About

First Youth Triathlon Team focuses on swimming, cycling, and running as its core activities. The program also includes endurance, strength, mobility, coordination, and speed training, along with race-specific skills training.

• Ages: 8–18 years old

At First Youth Triathlon Team (FYTT), the stated mission is to help young athletes become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more resilient through a comprehensive training program that develops both athletic performance and character. The program includes a clear pathway for long-term development in a positive, challenging, and supportive team environment, and high school athletes are welcomed into the program.

The FYTT 2026–2027 Scholarship Program provides 50% financial assistance for the season to selected athletes, with team support for equipment and/or selected races at the discretion of FYTT. Scholarship athletes are required to race for the team in at least 5 events during the 2026 season, and participation in USA Triathlon Youth Nationals is strongly expected and carries the highest weight in scholarship evaluation. Scholarship athletes sign a one-year commitment agreement that includes racing for FYTT during the 2027 season and maintaining strong training attendance and team participation, and FYTT reserves the right to offer a scholarship to an athlete outside of the FYTT program if a strong candidate appears with proven results during the 2026 season.

First Youth Triathlon Team lists [email protected] and [email protected] as leadership contacts. The program has a partnership with Kagi, an innovative technology company focused on building fast, privacy-first search and knowledge tools, and Kagi supports FYTT in bringing more technology, analytics, and digital literacy into youth triathlon. The featured product Slop Detective is a free, kid-friendly game designed to teach media literacy and critical thinking, and it helps athletes ages 8–14 learn to spot AI-generated misinformation in stories, images, and audio in a fun, private, ad-free environment.
