About
The Fit Kids Movement and Mindfulness Program includes structured physical activity such as a full body workout and yoga flow. The program also includes movement and mindfulness exercises, including dedicated mindfulness activities.
The program’s mission statement is: “We provide structured physical activity, movement, and mindfulness programs to ensure all children enjoy the physical and mental benefits of exercise.” Fit Kids partners with schools and youth organizations to bring structured, research-informed movement and mindfulness programs to children. The program focuses on fun, inclusive, and structured physical activity and mindfulness exercises that promote lifelong well-being, with an emphasis on equitable access, inclusion, whole child wellness, joyful movement, and adaptability. It brings joyful movement and mindfulness to children and works at school, in after-school programs, and at home, with a focus on helping every child feel included, confident, and strong in body and mind.
“Many say it’s fun and doesn’t even feel like exercise—more like recess with a purpose. They love the variety of games and activities, which keep them engaged and excited to move. Several students have expressed how the program has helped them feel stronger and more confident. Tasks like push-ups or running laps, which once seemed difficult, have become achievable, and they take great pride in their progress. Many students note that Fit Kids helps them focus better in class, as the movement wakes them up and helps them release extra energy, making it easier to concentrate.” —Lauren Hernandez, Resurrection School, Los Angeles
“Students are engaged in the activities and enjoy using the various equipment they aren’t normally accustomed to using or seeing. Fit Kids expanded the ideas around fitness and living an active lifestyle to our students.” —Jennifer Bulloch, Dr. C. Owen Roundy Elementary School, Las Vegas
