Margaret Osborn is the Spanish tutor and holds an M.A. She has been in business for over 15 years and has over 30 years in the profession. Her experience includes teaching Spanish at Menlo-Atherton High School, serving as Department Chair from 2010–2016, and developing and rolling out the Spanish for Native Speaker Program in 1995, which after 25 years continues to flourish and has quadrupled in size. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, fluent in French, and is described as a Private Spanish Language Instructor in Silicon Valley.

The program’s mission is to work with each student one-on-one to identify their challenges and determine custom teaching techniques so that each student’s language goals are met. Tutoring support continues through the week when students text questions or ask for assignments to be reviewed. Her students see grade improvements of over 20 percent after just two tutoring sessions.

Schools and institutions where students have received tutoring support from Margaret Osborn Spanish Tutoring include Carlmont High School, Castilleja School, Crystal Springs Uplands School, Girls Middle School, Hillview Middle School, La Entrada Middle School, Menlo-Atherton High School, Menlo College, Menlo School, Palo Alto High School, Sacred Heart, Santa Clara University, Serra High School, St. Francis High School, University of San Diego, Woodside Elementary, and Woodside Priory.

Parent and student testimonials report experiences such as a student progressing rapidly enough to skip a level and complete all high school Spanish by junior year with a score of 5 on the AP Spanish exam, a student raising a failing Spanish grade to a B, and another student moving from failing early assessments to earning a B and then an A- in later semesters. Other testimonials describe students improving from near failure to acceptable or top grades, increased use of Spanish at home, and long-term work with siblings over several years. One testimonial notes that Margaret alerted a student to a learning difference that led to school testing and access to learning resources. Another testimonial from 2024 states that she is a “Spanish tutor par excellence,” that her students see grade improvements of over 20 percent after just two tutoring sessions, that she continues support between sessions by text, and that she enjoys hearing from former students about their later success.
