The Spotlight Tutoring program includes six structured sessions and an informal assessment to help families better understand how a child learns and to provide a trial experience to see whether ongoing academic support would be useful. Staff members regularly communicate with parents and, in many cases, speak with and work with teachers, counselors, and other professionals, and students typically work directly with one or two staff members while drawing on the expertise of several staff. The program offers a no-cost phone consultation and carefully matches each student with a tutor, learning specialist, or other specialist based on student learning style, specialist teaching style, and personality, and also offers individualized ADHD tutoring in Palo Alto for K–12 students and specialized screenings for learning differences and ADHD for students of all ages, including college students and adults.
