University Heights Montessori has been in existence since 1989 and has been educating children in Menlo Park and the surrounding areas for almost 30 years. The center is a state-licensed Montessori preschool serving children from the ages of 2 to 6 years. Its stated aim is to assist each child in developing each of their potentialities as fully as possible in keeping with their unique pattern of development, and to help each child develop within themselves the foundations requisite for a lifetime of creative learning. The program uses the Montessori Method with inherently attractive learning and discovery activities, a wide variety of sensory-discrimination activities, and a prepared, child-oriented environment where students develop cognitive learning through hands-on activities while being given choices and the ability to execute them. Students are introduced to various languages at a basic entry level and learn to develop a true sense of the community and respect for each other. University Heights Montessori has a well-established and great reputation in the community for educating children in Menlo Park and the surrounding areas for almost 30 years.

The leadership team includes Miss Shirley (Owner | Director) and Mr. Michael (Director of Admissions). Montessori teachers at the center include Miss Alison, Miss Ayhan, Miss Elise, Miss JoAnne, Miss Juana, Miss Maria, Miss May, Miss Michelle, Miss Mina, Miss Ngawang, Miss Sana, and Miss Senya. The program also includes a weekly physical education program called “Hot Shots” with Mr. Dave as a mandatory and integral part of the Montessori program.
