University Heights Montessori is a state-licensed Montessori preschool serving children from the ages of 2 to 6 years. The program presents inherently attractive learning and discovery activities and a wide variety of sensory-discrimination activities. The Montessori Method at this program assists the child in sharpening powers of observation and developing initiative in learning. Students are introduced to various languages at a basic entry-level. The prepared and child oriented environment allows students to develop cognitive learning through hands-on activities while giving them choices and the ability to execute them.

University Heights Montessori has been in existence since 1989 and has been educating children in Menlo Park and the surrounding areas for almost 30 years. It has a well-established and great reputation in the community for educating children in these areas. The leadership team includes Miss Shirley, Owner and Director; Mr. Michael, Director of Admissions; and Montessori teachers Miss Alison, Miss Ayhan, Miss Elise, Miss JoAnne, Miss Juana, Miss Maria, Miss May, Miss Michelle, Miss Mina, Miss Ngawang, Miss Sana, and Miss Senya. The principle aim of University Heights Montessori (UHM) is to assist each child in helping him or her to develop each of their potentialities as fully as possible in keeping with their unique pattern of development. The stated purpose is to help each child develop within themselves the foundations requisite for a lifetime of creative learning, and the philosophy is to give children a “Love for School” attitude by building their self-esteem through a program guided by a Montessori education.
