The mission of CodeHS is to empower all students to meaningfully impact the future. CodeHS states that they believe coding is a foundational skill in the 21st century, like reading and writing, summarized as “Read, Write, Code.” CodeHS states that they provide curriculum, tools, and resources to teachers, students, and schools to implement high-quality computer science programs, and that they work directly with students, teachers, schools, and districts to implement computer science classes. CodeHS states that they aim to make computer science education fun and accessible and that both great tools and a great community are needed, and that computing is about logic and creativity.

The platform’s classroom IDE runs everything in one browser tab, supports blocks-to-text transitions so students can start with drag-and-drop and flip to code, tracks code history including every version, and flags pasted code. The IDE is free for teachers, runs on any Chromebook with no installs, and is built for school privacy. CodeHS also provides a coding learning management system (LMS) that lets teachers see who is present and working when class starts, catch stuck students before they give up, see the process behind every solution, and grade a whole class’s code in one sitting. CodeHS curriculum is aligned to standards in all 50 states, and CodeHS builds state-specific curriculum, standards alignment, certifications, and resources.

CodeHS offers certifications where students earn industry-recognized credentials, with certification prep built into courses. Certification exams are secure, teacher-proctored, and delivered on the CodeHS platform, and Level 1 certifications stack into associate credentials such as CodeHS Programming Associate, CodeHS Web Associate, and CodeHS Cybersecurity Associate. CodeHS also offers a Cyber Range for hands-on cybersecurity practice in a safe sandbox.

CodeHS provides AI tools including Vibe Coding, AI hints, autograding, and Ask AI built for the classroom, and highlights features such as AI grading, differentiation, elementary assessments, academic integrity, online IDE, physical computing, AP courses, and Vibe Coding. CodeHS has an AI Center and a Privacy Center. CodeHS offers products including Coding LMS, Online IDE, CodeHS Pro, CodeHS Free, Computer Science Curriculum, Certifications, Professional Development, AI Creator, Typing, and Cyber Range, with plans including CodeHS Pro and Start for Free, and supports use cases for districts, schools, teachers, and career and technical education (CTE).

CodeHS offers professional development for teachers in formats including online courses, in-person sessions, live virtual sessions, free PD workshops, PD cohorts, teacher certification prep, and microcredentials, and offers PD for every experience level, including support for cohorts and workshops. CodeHS provides resources such as “Why Computer Science,” “Why Cybersecurity,” “Why Learn AI,” “Why Digital Literacy,” a Back to School Checklist, case studies, state-specific information, testimonials, tweets, the CodeHS Blog, the Read Write Code book, a knowledge base, webinars, student projects, a career center, and student alumni.
