Team Elite Basketball was formed by Rodel Cruzet in 2008, and in 2012 he opened a 10,000 sq. foot basketball facility. The program now has over 200 kids in club teams, group training, and individual training. Every player receives one Team Elite shirt, one Team Elite hoodie, and a custom Team Elite backpack, and every player participating in tournaments receives a free custom Team Elite jersey. The program will play in tournaments every weekend in the month of March, for a total of four tournaments.
The program’s mission is to offer elite training and knowledge to young athletes to take their game to the next level, turn weaknesses into strengths and improve on strengths, and support development on and off the court. Rodel Cruzet’s experience includes starting competitive basketball at age 9, assistant coaching for local National Junior Basketball and school teams at age 13, receiving the Community Service Award at his 8th grade graduation from St. John Vianney in 2002, and graduating from Moreau Catholic High School in 2006. He was awarded the Community Service Award at his 8th grade graduation from St. John Vianney in 2002.
Parent and player testimonials describe Team Elite as a great basketball program that treats families like family from the beginning and note that Coach Rodel was glad to help players work on many parts of their game. Families report staying with Team Elite and Coach Rodel for over three years, citing lots of practices and AAU weekend games. A player training for pro ball reports seeing Coach Rodel consistently working with kids and describes him as passionate and caring about basketball, hard work, and the kids. Another parent notes that a child playing a third season with Team Elite has shown improvements in skills and being part of a team, and mentions that both Coach Rodel and Al have helped with confidence and skill level.
