The Joy Of Dance

The Joy Of Dance offers Little Stars for ages 2 1/2 to 7, with ballet, jazz, gymnastics, and tap. It also offers jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary, acro dance, and private lessons. Ballet shoes, tap shoes, jazz shoes, sneakers, half soles, and barefoot work are used in the listed classes.

Programs

• Little Stars — 2 1/2 to 7 · Combination class including ballet, jazz, gymnastics, and tap. Designed as a fun, structured introduction to dance and movement. Ballet shoes and tap shoes are both worn.
• Jazz — Focuses on proper dance technique, isolations, performance quality, agility, strength, flexibility, and stage presence. Jazz shoes are worn.
• Tap — Feet become the instrument. Increases strength, balance, and control while teaching sound clarity, rhythm, phrasing, and musicality. Tap shoes are worn.
• Ballet — Teaches fundamentals of ballet technique and focuses on strength, flexibility, proper posture, artistry, and self-confidence. Ballet shoes are worn.
• Hip Hop — Fast moving and high energy class incorporating old and new urban, street, and pop dance styles. Sneakers are worn.
• Lyrical & Contemporary — Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz with emotion and storytelling. Contemporary draws from modern dance and emphasizes musicality and improvisation. Jazz shoes or half soles are worn.
• Acro Dance — Combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements to build strength, flexibility, coordination, and control. Dancers are barefoot.
• Private Lessons — Available to cater to the specific needs and goals of an individual dancer.
