Stanislaus County Police Activities League Youth Sports & Programs offers soccer programs, basketball programs, a baseball program, a flag football program, and sports leagues. Peterson, former Superintendent of the Stanislaus County Office of Education, and former Stanislaus County Sheriff Les Weidman. The organization states that it is fully licensed and insured. Recreational swimming and swimming lessons are offered seasonally at the Empire Pool. The Annual Charity Golf Classic is one of the ways Stanislaus County Police Activities League raises funds that directly support its youth programs.
At present, Stanislaus County Police Activities League serves an average of 500 to 7,000 young people per month in Stanislaus County. It currently operates a total of 46 programs at sites in Salida, Grayson, Keyes, Empire, Waterford, and Modesto. In partnership with local partners such as school districts and the Stanislaus County Parks & Recreation Department, it serves this number of youth each month through after-school programs at various school districts, community centers, and sports leagues.
