Swim Lessons at The Modesto Red Shield

Swim Lessons at The Modesto Red Shield include group swim lessons, private swim lessons, lap swimming, recreation swimming, and Open Swim in an aquatics center with a pool. The program also offers aquatics based group exercise classes, group exercise and water walking, and Jr. Lifeguard. In addition to swim lessons for all ages, participants have access to a wellness center with equipment for strength, cardio, endurance, flexibility, and agility training, along with additional training classes such as equipment instruction and developing a proper workout routine.

• Schedule: Facility hours Monday–Friday 8am–6:30pm; Wednesday and Friday extended gym hours until 10pm for ages 16 and older; Saturday closed; Sunday open for worship 9:30am–12pm
• Price: Boxing Showdown tickets: $25; kids under 4 free

American Red Cross Certified lifeguards and trained swim lesson instructors oversee activities in the aquatics center. Public transportation to the center is available through MAX. The site also hosts community events such as the Coats for Kids event, where attendees are asked to bring an Immunization Card, Birth Certificate, Student ID, or State of CA Benefits ID Card, and The Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, which provides toys and gifts for children up to 12 years old and a food box for each family. The pool is currently closed for the season and is scheduled to re-open in spring 2025.
