SPARK Academy Corp. / SPARK Youth / SPARK Summer Camp offers after school programs, off-site camp programs, SPARKademics in Math and Language Arts, Business Academy for grades 2 and up, academic enrichment activities, movie days, and weekly field trips. The program includes STEM, arts and crafts, recreation, team building, and culinary activities on Fridays.

Programs

• After School Programs — Open every day school is in session from dismissal until 6 p.m.
• Off-Site Camp Programs — All day summer program from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; camps also available during Fall and Spring Break
• SPARKademics (Math & Language Arts) — Summer program offering focused on Math & Language Arts according to the Common Core State Standards; students receive common core materials and small group tutoring according to grade levels.
• Business Academy — Grades 2nd and up · A class for young entrepreneurs to learn business principles.
• Academic Enrichment — Daily academic enrichment activities include STEM, arts and crafts, recreation, team building, culinary (Friday’s) and more.
• Movie Days — Students enjoy a movie theater experience on campus with popcorn and projection movies.
• Weekly Field Trips — Weekly field trips are offered at an additional fee; on-site and off-site field trips are optional and off-site space is limited.

About the provider

Linda Wong is the Founder and Executive Director of SPARK Academy Corp., SPARK Youth, and SPARK Summer Camp. She has over 10 years of experience in the classroom. The program states a mission to provide a positive learning environment where students feel they belong, learn they are capable, and discover their talents are a service to the world. Linda Wong was Congressional Woman of the Year for 2018. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and is a Credentialed Principal and Teacher, a Certified Positive Discipline Educator, and Past President of the Alhambra Rotary Club. The program states that students serve the community and values service leadership.

The program specializes in homework assistance and academic enrichment embedded with life-skill lessons for school-aged children. It is a balanced program supporting academic achievement, social intelligence, and service leadership. After school programs are on campus for most locations. Financial Assistance sliding scale prices are offered. Staff are CPR/First Aid Certified, Mandated Reporters, and have passed an academic assessment test.
