About
Gymtowne Gymnastics Coastside Day Camps include gymnastics, obstacle courses, games, and hikes. The program takes place in a 14,000 square foot gymnastics facility that has three separate gym areas with viewing areas in each gym.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Spring Break and Summer day camps running Monday–Friday, 9 AM–3 PM
• Price: $110/day or $525/week for all camps
Gymtowne Gymnastics Coastside has served the Half Moon Bay community for more than 30 years as a local, family-owned business. Owner Kayla Strom leads the program and states that she strives to provide a fun and safe environment for students along the Coastside and beyond to gain self-confidence, build body-awareness, and develop socially through gymnastics. Instructors are certified by USA Gymnastics and, if they are 18 years or older, undergo USAG’s NCIS Criminal Background Check.
The facility’s Main Gym is used for the school-age program, teens and adults, and the competitive team. The Mini Gym houses smaller-sized apparatus for younger gymnasts ages 3 to 5, and the Rug Bug Gym houses boys’ equipment as well as an open space, soft landings, and bright materials for students ages 1 to 2.
Campers are required to have bare feet, with shoulder-length or longer hair tied back off the face and secured with flat clips, and no bobby pins or lumpy clips. Girls are asked to wear leotards, and boys are asked to wear close-fitting T-shirts tucked in, with shorts, tights, or warm-up pants that allow full movement and do not cover the feet. Clothing may not have zippers, buttons, buckles, or be jeans, and tutus or skirts are not allowed; warm-up suits are recommended for coming to and from the gym. Post earrings are the only jewelry allowed, and students with a cast on an arm or leg may not participate. Families are asked to send a water bottle, lunch, and snacks, and children are welcome to bring hand sanitizer and masks, which are optional.
