Camp Thrive’s mission is to spark the imagination of all children in a spiritually rich, creative, and sustainable environment and to help children become well rounded individuals and understand the value of spiritual reflection, leadership, and communication. The acronym T.H.R.I.V.E. stands for Teamwork (work with others and build relationships), Holistic (to understand they are loved by God), Reflection (think about actions before and after), Imagination (imagination and creativity can change the world), Virtuous (learn theological virtues of faith, hope, and love), and Empathy (to have compassion for others, the poor, and needy). The program encourages self-directed learning and includes mixed-age group work for children 6–12 years old, with weekly community projects based on a theme.

Camp Thrive collaborates with St. Lucy Parish in Campbell, St. John Vianney, St. Julie Billiart, St. Thomas of Canterbury, Christ the King in San Jose, Holy Cross in Santa Cruz, and the Dioceses of San Jose and Monterey, California. The leadership team includes Fr. Steve Kim as President, Jefferson Dela Cruz as VP and Executive Director, and Jenny Dela Cruz as Secretary. Staff credentials include Fr. Steve’s studies at Santa Clara University, St. Patrick’s Seminary, and a doctorate from the University of Southern California, along with his role as Principal at Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, and Jefferson and Jenny Dela Cruz’s studies at institutions including Cal Poly SLO, Santa Clara University, University of Colorado Boulder, and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Campers must be walked in and out by a parent or guardian each day with mandatory sign-in and sign-out, and rolling sign-in occurs from 8:00–9:00 am. Each camper brings a home lunch and a reusable water bottle, while Camp Thrive provides a snack, with families of students who have food allergies asked to provide their own snack. Camp Thrive t-shirts are required daily, with one t-shirt included with the first week purchased, and families are encouraged to apply sunscreen before camp because time is spent outdoors.
