Silicon Valley Tennis Academy offers year-round tennis training through specific programs including Rising Stars, Fundamentals, Core Skills, and High Performance tennis programs. The academy also offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced tennis classes, as well as an Adult Class / Adult Clinic that covers basic strokes, footwork, and game fundamentals. Programs include customized training options for juniors, adults, and families of all levels and abilities, and the academy is home for some of the top ranked players in Northern California.

Francisco Ruiz serves as Head Coach and Director and is an ITF (International Tennis Federation) High Performance Coach who has been playing tennis for over 50 years and coaching across the Bay Area for over 35 years. The coaching staff includes certified instructors Jorge Ballesteros, Andres, Christian Rivera, and Felipe, who have years of experience working with players from beginners to nationally ranked athletes. The academy’s mission is to provide high quality tennis instruction and training for players of all levels, to give every student skills, knowledge, and confidence in tennis and in life, to create hardworking, well-rounded players, and to instill a new appreciation for the game of tennis. Silicon Valley Tennis Academy states a coaching philosophy that the path to professional-level competition takes 10 years of committed effort and 10,000 hours of practice, and it provides guidance that engaging in tennis activities three to four times a week can help an individual with average talent reach a low intermediate level within 5 to 6 years.
Silicon Valley Tennis Academy describes a goal of having a positive impact in the community through teaching with compassion, support, and patience. Francisco Ruiz served as the Director of the Mexico City Multicultural Exchange Program and was the first Latino to be on the USTA NorCal Board of Directors in 2006. He received the Diversity Leadership award in 2004 for his coaching and the Trailblazer award in 2010 for lifelong service in the minority tennis community.
The academy also hosts the Silicon Valley Tennis Podcast, led by Coach Francisco Ruiz, featuring coaches and guests from the tennis scene across California and beyond. It operates branch academies that serve the broader South Bay Area, including a new branch at Kona Kai. The High Performance program is for intense tournament players with at least four years of competitive experience and a USTA NorCal ranking, the Core Skills program is for tournament players with at least two years of competitive experience who want to progress to the next level, the Fundamentals program is for students with some tennis experience who are beginning to enter novice to challenger level tournaments, and the Rising Stars program is for players with little to no experience who are developing basic skills, techniques, and game strategies.
