Spartans Sports Camp offers programs for kids entering grades 1–9. The camp is operated entirely by the Mountain View High School (MVHS) Athletic Department and is run by MVHS coaches and student-athletes. It was founded in 2012 by former Athletic Director John Payne, and this will be their 13th summer providing a wide variety of camps to the community. Spartans Sports Camp states that experienced staff ensures everyone has fun. Spartans Sports Camp is dedicated to providing an encouraging and positive environment that aids in the development of its campers as both children and athletes. Spartans Sports Camp, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Spartans Sports Camp has raised and donated over $630,000 since 2012 and has also reported raising and donating over $482,000 since 2012. All proceeds go directly to support the sports programs at Mountain View High School and raise funds for the MVHS Athletic Department. The camp provides a wide variety of camps to the community.
One parent shared that their son attended the multi-sport camp week for the past two years and enjoyed trying multiple sports, including ones that were less familiar to him, and choosing between swimming or arcade time.
