About

Camp Gan Israel offers a mix of field trips, swimming, sports, and crafts as part of its summer programming. Campers take part in a variety of organized activities and outings during the camp session.

In 2012, Rabbi Menachem Landa and his wife Adina founded the Chabad Jewish Center of Novato. Camp Gan Israel operates under the leadership of Co-directors Rabbi Menachem Landa and Mrs. Adina Landa. Chabad states that it is dedicated to making the beauty and joys of Jewish traditions and heritage accessible, relevant, and meaningful. Chabad of Novato was voted by the Jewish Weekly (the J) in 2018 as the top choice for synagogue life in the North Bay for innovative programming and as the most charitable organization in the North Bay. The camp notes that it caters to Jewish children located throughout Marin County and describes its environment as warm and upbeat, with campers enjoying activities and field trips in a vivacious atmosphere. The program also highlights that its staff work to develop skills, confidence, and a sense of fair play within each child. Camp Gan Israel has produced year-end slideshows for 2021, 2022, and 2023.
