CAMPS - Musical Theater "School Year"
Kids 'N Dance 'N Theater Arts, 3840 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94619
Musical Theater Camps | Ages 4-8, 1st-5th, or 3rd-7th
Time and time again, families are blown away by the caliber of our Musical Theater Camp performances. Every camper is featured, supported, and challenged at a level that's right for them.
For those new to the spotlight, camp offers a welcoming introduction to theater, with gentle guidance as they find their footing and confidence onstage. Seasoned young performers will have opportunities to stretch their skills and grow their stage presence. Everyone will enjoy plenty of time to make friends and bond with buddies, both during rehearsals and throughout the camp day.
The final show for all levels has all the magic of a real stage production—full scenery, costumes, props, professional stage lighting, individual microphones, and tons of excitement!
LEVELS:
Little Theater Ages 4-8 years A perfect introduction to theater! With gentle guidance and encouragement from our directors, young performers learn the basics of stagecraft in a fun and supportive environment. No need to read fluently or memorize every line—our approach helps children feel comfortable, build confidence, and shine on stage!
Casting is determined through fun acting games. Children who would like a larger role or singing solo are encouraged to share a one-minute song with on the first day. It's a relaxed, supportive opportunity to show us what they enjoy doing and helps us consider them for bigger parts.
Youth & Teen Theater Grades 1st-5th & Grades 3rd-7th This camp is for performers excited to take their theater experience to the next level! Rehearsals are lively and fast-paced, with campers practicing lines and songs at home so they're ready to focus on blocking and choreography.
Those interested in lead roles or vocal solos should prepare a memorized one-minute song for the first day. Choose a song that reflects the type of character you'd like to play and showcases your acting, expression, and vocal abilities. Singing auditions are optional for campers who prefer to start with smaller roles.
