All staff are FBI background checked, fingerprinted, and certified in CPR, First Aid, and youth protection, and the program notes 100% background-checked staff and 100+ years of safe, life-changing camps. Since its founding in 1920, the Orange County Council has focused on character development, leadership training, and outdoor adventure, and the organization notes that it is celebrating 115 years of Scouting America. The mission statement for Outdoor Adventures programs is “We Change Lives,” and over 30,000 young people are served every year through Orange County Council Outdoor Adventures programs. The leadership team includes Marie Becvar as Director of Outdoor Adventures.
Outdoor Adventures partners with youth-serving organizations, schools, nonprofits, local businesses, and faith-based organizations to run its programs. Parent feedback includes comments such as, “We had a great experience and are speaking with the boy's coach to have them do this event next year as well. The staff was amazing to work with,” and, “My son just returned, rated 10/10 experience. He's a picky eater and absolutely loved their meals.”
