Early Education Programs and Services was formerly named Child Development Programs and Services. The program is led by Sr. Director Michelle Lucero. Its stated mission is to deliver exceptional, inclusive early care and education programs and services through a team of highly skilled professionals, with a focus on individualized educational, emotional, social, and physical growth and development for children. Early Education Programs and Services leads the Local Child Care Planning Council, the Butte Quality Consoritum, and the Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) Network. It also provides complementary support services that elevate the quality of early learning and care programs for children aged birth through five, and offers professional development and training opportunities for early childhood professionals. Help Me Grow Butte is a no-cost service of Early Education Programs and Services that is available to all families in Butte County with children aged 0–5 who are interested in learning more about their children.
