About

At the Premier America Boys & Girls Club, members use a reimagined clubhouse that features a state-of-the-art eSports lab, a podcast station, a STEAM lab, and an upgraded computer lab.

The Boys & Girls Clubs in Oxnard and Port Hueneme have been providing programs to youth since 1954, and the clubs came together in 1997 to become the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. In 2023, BGCOP opened its 22nd location, the Port Hueneme Teen Center. The historic club on 7th Street reopened on June 11, 2007, as the Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center, 53 years after it had originally opened. The Martin V. Smith Clubhouse opened in October 2001. The first club located in a juvenile facility in the state of California opened in January 2007 at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Facility. The organization’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The renovation of the Premier America Boys & Girls Club was made possible through the Believe in Our Next Generation campaign, the Gene Haas Foundation, and a $1 million contribution from the Premier America Foundation, the charitable arm of Premier America Credit Union. To serve kids who need it most, BGCOP has opened smaller satellite clubs in partnership with Many Mansions and the Oxnard Public Housing Authority, and it operates clubs on campuses across the Rio Elementary School District, the Ocean View Elementary School District, and the Hueneme Elementary School District. The club at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Facility is noted as the first club located in a juvenile facility in the state of California.
