Desert Bees Baseball Academy offers fundamental baseball and softball training that includes hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and situational elements. Players take part in Pitchers and Catchers workouts, Wednesday field practices, Thursday games, Friday hitting sessions, weekly games, and tournaments as part of the program.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall Academy starts September 3, 2025, with Pitchers and Catchers workouts every other Monday, field practice on Wednesdays, games on Thursdays, and hitting sessions on Fridays
• Price: Registration is $175 and $150 per month; registration includes a Bees game jersey, Bees practice jersey, Bees game hat, game pants, socks, and a belt
The Desert Bees Baseball/Softball Academy describes itself as a fundamental-based training and performance program with practice programs based on college-style workouts. The Desert Bees are described as the most successful youth baseball and softball training organization in the Coachella Valley for 23 years running, and registration provides team insurance and secures a spot.
Coach Bobb “Coach B” Boetto leads the program and has 22 years of baseball coaching experience. He holds a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University–Irvine and a bachelor’s degree from Cal State University–Fullerton. Coach Boetto was a Division 1 collegiate athlete in two sports at Cal State Fullerton and Ferris State University and has coached at UCLA, Riverside City College, Cal State San Bernardino, College of the Desert, and for six seasons with the Palm Springs Power. He has coached youth travel baseball since 2002 and has coached professional, collegiate, high school, and youth athletes for 22 years. The coaching staff includes former professional players, college players, college coaches, high school coaches, and coaches who are described as leaders in the community.
The program’s training home facility, Swing Factory, is described as a brand new indoor hitting facility that is open seven days a week and focused on baseball and softball all day. It offers JUGS pitching machines, hitting machines, hitting tees, L-screens, baseballs and softballs, kids camps, individual instruction, team rates, and lessons, instruction, and guidance, and it is described as having a great atmosphere and being the most customer friendly facility in the valley.
