AYSO Palmdale Region 393 Youth Soccer is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization, which is described as the nation’s leading grassroots soccer program. The program includes AYSO EPIC, which is for players with physical or mental disabilities and was formerly known as VIP.
The stated mission of AYSO Palmdale Region 393 Youth Soccer is “Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.” The leadership of the broader organization includes Michael Karon, President of AYSO. Michael Karon has been recognized by Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering. Community involvement connected to AYSO includes partnerships with Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming, the US Center for Mental Health & Sport with a focus on player and volunteer wellness, and the Northland Sports Alliance to expand soccer programming in Kansas City, as well as the hosting of the AYSO National Open Cup 2017 in the City of Lancaster.
