Latinas Art Foundation Dance Classes

Latinas Art Foundation Dance Classes offers Tiny Tots Ballet Folklorico, Beginners Ballet Folklorico, Ballet Folklorico Advance, Latin Dance, Beyond the Spectrum, Technique/Flexibility, and Hip Hop. Tiny Tots Ballet Folklorico includes counting and colors in both Spanish and English while students learn about traditional and contemporary folklorico dances from Latino America. Courses include learning cultural and traditional backgrounds of the Latino culture through dance and storytelling, and Latin Dance classes include salsa, bachata, merengue, cha-cha, rumba, samba, and urban and modern dance incorporated to popular songs.

• Schedule: Class options on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm–7pm, with additional classes on Wednesdays

Latinas Art Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created to support arts education and encourages the study, appreciation, and recognition of excellence in the Latin Arts. Its stated goals are to empower women and young girls and to provide the community with education and exposure to the Latin(e) Arts and Culture. The organization states that its vision is to recognize aspects of the Latin(e) Culture that have shaped the past and to take those aspects into the future, and it describes art as something that creates creativity, gives the community a voice, and helps form a mindset that activates how people imagine the world. The Beyond the Spectrum class is created for children and adults with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Classes emphasize flexibility, technique, and strengthening skills, including stretching exercises described as helping in injury prevention, better muscle coordination, improved posture, enhanced sports performance, increased range of motion, and overall greater mental health. Latinas Art Foundation notes that it focuses on education, exposure, and empowerment in the Latin(e) Arts and Culture. Practice dance attire is listed for these classes.
