Pasadena Unified School District Early Childhood Education

Pasadena Unified School District Early Childhood Education offers activities in math, languages, science, and arts. The program includes Full-Day Preschool, Half-Day Preschool, and Transitional Kindergarten (TK), which is described as the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that builds a bridge between preschool and traditional Kindergarten. Dual Language Immersion Programs and Summer Programs are available in Spanish and Mandarin.

Pasadena Unified School District Early Childhood Education annually serves approximately 500 preschool-aged students, and approximately 15% are students with Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Students in the program learn skills such as resolving conflict, sharing responsibilities, and working collaboratively. The program is led by Lindsay Lewis, Director Preschool. Pasadena Unified's Early Childhood Education programs state that they develop the whole person by nurturing each child’s physical, social, emotional, creative, linguistic, and cognitive growth. The program states that PUSD equips 3–5 year old children to thrive and that PUSD early education blends fun, learning, and skills development, and is designed to nurture well-rounded students who can problem-solve and navigate a changing world.
