Intro to Sprint Kayaking Clinic/Camp- River Town Racers

NBRC Boatyard, 625 2nd Street, Petaluma, CA 94952

SportsOutdoors

Join us for an exciting and fun-filled summer kayaking clinic where campers will learn the essential skills of this Olympic Sport such as balance, basic paddling strokes, water safety, and teamwork—all in a supportive, fun environment with lots of individual attention.

Each day kicks off with interactive games off the water to promote self-expression, teamwork, and positive peer relationships. Day one, participants will dive right in, trying out our racing boats and learning how to maintain balance in them. Our expert instructors will go on to teach proper paddling form, and essential boating safety protocols, ensuring participants feel confident and safe on the water. Through the program, campers will also develop valuable life skills like focus, patience, perseverance, and teamwork, all while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of being on the water.

Safety is our top priority—everyone will wear life vests throughout the program. On and off the water, we’ll have plenty of fun games, and we even have a Popsicle Day midweek to keep things cool! On Saturday, we’ll wrap up with a demonstration, lunch, and an awards ceremony. Families are invited to join in the celebration.

By the end of the clinic, participants will feel a great sense of accomplishment and boosted confidence, empowering them to take on new challenges both on and off the water. While many of our campers go on to join our year-round training program and competitive team, participation in these programs is completely optional.
