Special Olympics Northern California is dedicated to promoting unity and empowering children and adults with intellectual disabilities both on and off the field. Its programs transform athletes into leaders and promote acceptance, unity, and respect throughout Northern California. The organization is authorized and accredited by Special Olympics, Inc. for the benefit of persons with intellectual disabilities. Community events include the High Tech Challenge golf tournament and fundraiser, which brings together business and community leaders, and the 17th Annual Bike the Bridges | Bands & Brews event, which features four scenic ride options that pass over the Martinez and Carquinez Bridges along with local breweries, food options, and live music at the post-ride party. Team NorCal is headed to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, and the 2026 Summer Games will include more than 1,000 athletes.
