Education Programs include K-12 Museum Field Trips, where students tour the art galleries with AMOCA Educators and take part in a hands-on air-dry clay activity. The program also includes Mobile Museum Visits, where students interact with artwork from the education collection and create their own air-dry clay project. Other offerings include Virtual Tours, a 1-hour interactive virtual tour via Zoom guided by the education manager, and Family Day events with gallery activities and art making with clay.

- College and Adult Museum Tours — In person tours for college and adult groups interested in a deeper dive into AMOCA exhibitions.
- Virtual Tours — A 1 hour interactive virtual tour via Zoom, guided by the education manager.
- Teen Council Program — weekly activities and studio sessions · For high school students with a passion for art and an interest in ceramics and the professional art world.
- Annual High School Ceramics Exhibition — An annual juried exhibition showcasing high school students studying the ceramic arts.
- Family Day events — once every fall, winter, spring and summer · Includes gallery activities and art making with clay.
- Family Activities at Home — Virtual art activities you can do in the comfort of your home.
At a glance
- Ages: 0–18 years old
- General schedule: Musem visits and experiences are available as synchronous and asynchronous virtual experiences and mobile experiences at school sites. Family Day events occur once every fall, winter, spring and summer.
- Facility hours: The museum is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 11 AM–4 PM.
About the provider
Since 2014, AMOCA has hosted an annual juried exhibition showcasing the talents of high school students studying the ceramic arts. AMOCA champions the art, history, creation, and technology of ceramics through exhibitions, collections, outreach, and studio programming.
