About
AYSO Section 11 EPIC (Everyone Plays In our Communities) Soccer Program offers soccer for players with physical or mental disabilities. Participants play soccer and spend time learning soccer skills with trained coaches, volunteers, and buddies who assist during the games. Players and their families, along with the volunteers, take part in the full AYSO experience, including team uniforms, scoring goals, and cheering from the sidelines.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
The mission of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide a quality soccer experience for individuals whose disabilities make it difficult for them to successfully participate on a mainstream soccer team. The program includes buddies who assist during the games, and players learn soccer skills while meeting new friends and having fun. The program’s goal is to make sure that everyone can play soccer, with a vision to create EPIC teams in every AYSO Region wherever possible and to maximize opportunities for EPIC player participation where EPIC teams are not available. The program has trained coaches and volunteers who facilitate an enriching experience.
The EPIC Contact is Janice Lugo, Section 11 EPIC Director. The leadership team includes Section Director Janice L, Asst. Section Director and Section Management Admin Darryl R, Section Coach Admin Jodie T, Section Referee Admin Ben M, Section Treasurer Stephanie M, Section Auditor Randall E, Section Secretary Lisa V, Section EXTRA Admin Jake H, Section SCEDSL Admin John C, Section EPIC Admin Janice L, Section 16U/19U Coordinator Ramon G, Section Tournament Director Tim V, Area 11E Director Christen J, Area 11K Director David K, Area 11L Director Ron R, Area 11O Director Tony T, Area 11Q Director Lance Y, Area 11R Director Jessica T, Area 11S Director Ruth D, Area 11V Director Jennifer T, and Area 11Z Director Jeremy J.
