About
Dove Canyon Music Lessons offers piano, violin, voice, and ukulele lessons, along with music theory lessons, early childhood music, and songwriting. The program also offers music theater vocal training, audition preparation, acting in song, monologue coaching, preparation for high school and college auditions, jazz, contemporary and pop singing, tablature reading, and adapted music lessons. Individual and small group music therapy sessions are also available.

• Schedule: Lesson options are available Monday–Friday with daytime and evening times, and on weekends with morning and afternoon times.
Dove Canyon Music Lessons has been teaching in South Orange County since 1996 and has been trusted by South Orange County families for nearly 30 years. The program offers a specialty early childhood music program for students ages 3–5 years old, a K–12 program for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, and a separate program for adult students. It offers four performance opportunities each year, monthly special music events and themed events, student of the month recognition in a monthly newsletter, and opportunities for duet work and piano accompaniment during violin lessons, with a small violin available for a young student trial lesson. The program also offers free consultations on instrument rentals and purchases, early morning and lunchtime lessons, year-round lessons on a month-to-month basis with no semester minimums, and high quality online music lessons, as well as a traveling music studio with teachers who come to students’ homes.
Dove Canyon Music Lessons is led by Dr. Mary DiCamillo, EdD, MT-BC, and Marisa Lovullo, MM, MT-BC. Dr. Mary DiCamillo has over 30 years of experience teaching piano, voice, violin, and music theory to children, teens, and adults of all ages, is experienced with special needs learners, and is a Board Certified Music Therapist and Professional Educational Therapist, with degrees in Music Therapy (BFA, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee), Special Education (MS, California State University Long Beach), and Education (EdD, Pepperdine University). Marisa Lovullo is a performer, educator, and therapist who has worked with students of all ages for the past 8 years, teaches voice at all levels and across genres, piano, music theory, and songwriting, and is a board-certified music therapist with degrees in Jazz Voice Performance (B.M., California State University Long Beach) and Music Therapy (M.M., University of Miami). Music therapy at Dove Canyon Music Lessons is described as the clinical use of music to achieve goals like reducing stress, improving mood, and expressing yourself, and is stated to be beneficial for people of all ages and abilities to improve cognitive, motor, speech/language, and social/emotional skills.
