Shasta County Arts Council Art Classes

Shasta County Arts Council Art Classes offers art classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels in many areas of artistic expression. Its offerings include Cartooning, Butterfly Origami, Mending Circle, and Pottery Clay Club. Butterfly Origami includes materials provided, and Pottery Clay Club includes clay, glazes, and kiln firings, with finished pieces that can be taken home.

Programs

• Art Classes — All ages and skill levels · Shasta County Arts Council curates classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels in many areas of artistic expression.
• Children’s Chorus — 2nd–8th grade · Tuesdays, 4-5pm · Free to participate; no audition required.
• Cartooning — Ages 8+ · Mondays, 4pm-6pm · These weekly cartooning classes are perfect for young artists looking to build skills, get creative, and have fun along the way.
• Butterfly Origami — $20 · Join us for an afternoon where art meets conservation.
• Mending Circle — 2nd Sundays, 11am-3pm · No admission fee; snacks and tea provided. Bring your own project; any handwork welcome.
• Pottery Clay Club — Kids · Tuesdays and Wednesdays · A hands-on, creative space where kids can explore, create, and grow through clay. Each month, your child will enjoy TWO 90-minute classes.

About the provider

Shasta County Arts Council champions accessibility and diversity in the arts community of rural Northern California. Through the design, planning, and organization of art activities, events, educational outreach programs, and supportive opportunities for artists and the community, the SCAC mission is to provide avenues for social exchange that promote learning and cultural understanding.

Children’s Chorus is free to participate and has no audition required. Mending Circle has no admission fee and asks participants to bring their own project. Pottery Clay Club includes two 90-minute classes each month.
