About

Shasta County Arts Council Classes and Workshops offers classes and workshops in many areas of artistic expression. The program includes options for all ages and skill levels. Guest curators also work with the council to bring exhibitions to life by selecting artwork, coordinating installation and hanging, and communicating with participating artists.

• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Friday, 10am–4pm, and 4th Saturdays, 10am–3pm

Shasta County Arts Council champions accessibility and diversity in the arts community of rural Northern California through art activities, events, educational outreach programs, and supportive opportunities for artists and the community. It provides a platform for local professional and emerging artists to display and sell their work in the Old City Hall gallery and in pop up shows throughout the year. The council acts as a fiscal sponsor for arts start-ups on their way to becoming independent not-for-profit organizations. It also hosts arts events, pushes for public art, and shares arts opportunities and arts-related news in weekly email newsletters. Each exhibition opens during First Friday of the assigned month, and guest curators are expected to attend the opening reception.
