About
Redwoods International Montessori offers hands-on materials that develop social, academic, and self-management skills, along with mixed-age Montessori classrooms that follow a freedom within boundaries approach. Children take part in daily Music and daily Spanish, weekly Global Explorations with country-themed studies that include art, geography, and guest learning, and ABC of the Week & Celebrations with letter-based literacy and monthly all-child birthday celebrations. The program also includes structured 30-minute daily exercise and blends the Montessori method with a global perspective in a non-sectarian school with no religious affiliation.
• Ages: 2–6 years old
For more than 30 years, Redwoods International Montessori has been guiding children ages 2–6. The school offers programs for toddlers (18–36 months) through preschoolers and is located very close to the heart of Silicon Valley, with campuses in Redwood City and San Ramon and child-centered classrooms and dedicated playgrounds, including a Toddler Program in Redwood City complete with a dedicated playground. The program is sometimes referred to by the nickname “Trimont” and is described as a sanctuary of child-centered calm in an ever-changing, bustling and innovative world.
The founder of Redwoods International Montessori is Annagi Liles, who holds an AMI (Association of Montessori Internationale) certification for Preschool education. The vision of The Redwoods International Montessori is to enrich the lives of children on a daily basis, develop the love of learning and discovery in an integrated social and academic environment, and partner with families so each child receives the tools he or she needs to attain their full potential. Across the Redwood City and San Ramon campuses, they describe themselves as a community committed to cultivating bright, compassionate, and resilient learners prepared to thrive in every stage of life.
Parents describe the teachers as genuinely caring and making an effort to engage each child individually, fostering growth and development, according to Vivian W. Another parent, Rebecca B., shares that their family has been part of the school community for 3.5 years with two children attending and that they could not be happier. Elina S. reports that her 4-year-old daughter loved the school and, in less than a year, had learned numbers 0–60, ABCs, writing, and more, and she highly recommends the program.
