Tiger Taekwondo was established in the Bay Area in January 2013. Tae Kwon Do at this school is a Korean martial art known for fast kicking and high energy, focusing on internal skills such as flexibility and balance and external skills such as speed, strength, and stamina. It introduces critical self-defense skills while it fosters positive thinking, improves concentration, teaches respect for elders and peers, and encourages high achievement and self-cultivation. With belt promotions held by the instructor, students have the opportunity to grow and develop and achieve the goal of black belt and beyond. The program states that play is crucial to physical and emotional development and that Tiger Taekwondo teaches life lessons in class and beyond. The mission of Tiger Taekwondo is expressed as confidence, discipline, excellence, family, tradition, achieving full potential, and joy.
