Carlos Alberto's MMA & Fitness Center offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The program includes instruction from several coaches who have trained directly under Professor Carlos Alberto at the academy.
Since 2013, Carlos Alberto's MMA & Fitness Center has operated under the leadership of owner and founder Carlos Alberto. Professor Carlos Alberto began his martial arts journey at age 19 under the Gracie family at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, California, and he holds a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and has studied boxing since 2006 under Ian Franklin. The coaching staff includes Coach Horacio, who started boxing in 2006 at age 12 and competed as an amateur before coaching; Coach Juan, who started in high school wrestling at 14 and has trained in Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and MMA under Carlos Alberto since 2012; Coach Adilene, who began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlos Alberto in 2014 and is now a lead Jiu-Jitsu instructor and event coordinator; Coach Nick, who began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlos Alberto in 2015 and also runs Raja Meal Preparation Co.; and Coach Angel, who started in the kids’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program at age 11 and later added boxing and MMA, and competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA competitions. The academy describes its coaching staff as “home-grown,” with several qualified coaches trained by Professor Carlos Alberto, and notes a focus on pinpointing students’ goals, building a strong connection with students, and providing enough personal attention for every student enrolled. The stated mission is to help students understand and use their God-given potential in order to achieve a successful and meaningful life in whatever endeavor they choose. The program serves families from Rialto, Fontana, Colton, Bloomington, Loma Linda, Redlands, San Bernardino, Grand Terrace, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, and Riverside.
