About
Carlos Alberto's MMA & Fitness Center offers training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and fitness. It is described as one of the Inland Empire’s premier boxing and martial arts academies, with several qualified coaches who were trained at the academy and are described as a home-grown coaching staff. Muay Thai at the center is referred to as the art of eight limbs, and boxing is commonly referred to as the sweet science.
Since their inception in 2013, the stated goal has been to help students begin a new chapter in their lives through fitness and martial arts, and in 2013 Carlos Alberto opened the academy under its current name. The mission statement says the program aims to help students understand and use their God-given potential in order to achieve a successful and meaningful life in whatever endeavor they choose. The center reports a focus on pinpointing students’ goals and helping them work toward those goals through mental growth and understanding of their capabilities, using a success model based on a strong connection with students and ensuring enough personal attention for every student enrolled.
Professor Carlos Alberto is a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and has been studying and practicing boxing since 2006. The leadership team includes Carlos Alberto as owner and founder; Coach Horacio as boxing instructor; Coach Juan as Muay Thai and MMA instructor; Coach Adilene as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor and event coordinator; Coach Nick as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor and chef; and Coach Angel as coach and fighter. Coach Horacio began his boxing career in 2006 at age 12, was trained by Ian Franklin, and competed at the amateur level for many years before becoming a coach. Coach Juan has trained in Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and MMA. Coach Adilene is one of the lead Jiu-Jitsu instructors and event coordinator, Coach Nick is also a chef who runs Raja Meal Preparation Co., and Coach Angel competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA competitions.
