British Swim School uses a survival-first approach with gentle, confidence-building teaching methods and offers programs for people of all ages, from 3 months to adults. The program features small group sizes, a low student-to-instructor ratio, and specific maximums such as up to 4 students per instructor in survival classes and up to 6 students per instructor in Tadpole and Stroke Development classes. Enrollment is offered year-round with flexible start dates, and students are promoted to the next level as soon as they are ready.

The instructors are highly trained, with in-depth training and enthusiasm for teaching water safety. The mission of British Swim School is to help swimmers of all experience levels become safer, stronger swimmers using gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach, while continuing Rita’s mission of teaching water survival skills and inspiring confidence in swimmers of all ages. British Swim School was founded in Manchester, England in 1981, expanded to North America in 1991, and has been a preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years, with lessons offered in fitness centers, hotels, and community pools across more than 450 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The one-time registration fee of $59 per student includes support for the Hope Floats Foundation. Billing is automated, with charges applied on the fourth Monday of each month for the upcoming month’s lessons, and programs are non-transferable and require 30-day advance notice for withdrawals.
