About

The Little Gym Camps offer gymnastics-focused summer camp sessions, including toddler summer camp, indoor active summer camps for preschool children, and summer gymnastics camps for kids. The program also offers kids birthday parties and a Parent Survival Night event.

• Ages: 4 months–12 years old

The Little Gym Camps are part of The Little Gym, which first opened in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington, and is celebrating 50 years in operation. The program was founded by Robin Wes. The Little Gym describes its mission as a place where children ages 4 months to 12 years learn and grow through movement-based learning and imaginative play, with gyms described as safe spaces for children and parents to explore gymnastics and more. The program uses a Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy that includes Get Moving (developing motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility, agility, and coordination through gymnastics), Citizen Kid (promoting sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership), and Brain Boost (nurturing creativity, imagination, concentration, and decision-making). Programs are described as getting kids moving, boosting their brainpower, and emphasizing social and emotional learning, with a non-competitive spirit in classes, and camps described as educational and fun. Parent Survival Night is described as giving parents a break. The Little Gym describes its gyms as safe spaces for children and parents and as part of a global community of families, instructors, and local business owners.

Parent feedback includes comments such as, “After the Bugs intro class we signed our daughter up Ms. Katie was amazing. Now we have moved into the Birds class and Ms. Heather is just as amazing, my daughter loves her so much,” from Caitlyn Kelso. Another parent, Lauren Singleton, shared, “Little Gym Dunwoody has been an amazing experience for both me and my toddler. We started when she was about 20 months old and she will be 3 next month.”
