About
Youth Art Programs take place at Richmond Art Center, where families can visit galleries during regular open hours. The program is connected to a center that also offers gallery and courtyard rentals for events in spaces such as the Main Gallery, South Gallery, and Courtyard.
• Schedule: Gallery and front desk are open Wednesday–Saturday, 10am–4pm.
• Price: Main Gallery: $200 per hour (minimum 2 hours) or $750 for 4 hours, then $150 per hour over 4 hours; South Gallery: $150 per hour (minimum 2 hours) or $550 for 4 hours, then $100 per hour over 4 hours; Courtyard: $150 per hour (minimum 2 hours) or $550 for 4 hours, then $100 per hour over 4 hours. Additional event fees: speakers with microphone $50 per event; laptop, projector, and screen $100 per event.
Richmond Art Center has been sharing art and creating with the community since 1936. Gallery admission and parking are free, and the studios and galleries are on one level with no stairs required for entry. Studios are restricted access and open only to registered students. Wearing masks is optional inside Richmond Art Center, with some Teaching Artists requiring masks in their classes as specified in individual class listings. For gallery rentals, fees include 1 hour for setup before the event and 1 hour for cleanup afterward, and event organizers must allow three feet of clearance around artwork and pedestals plus walking space. A signed agreement, 50% deposit, and proof of insurance are required to secure a gallery rental booking, and organizers are responsible for all cleanup to restore the space to its original condition. A limited number of tables and chairs are available at no cost, with additional furniture available to rent if needed. Event organizers may cancel up to 45 days before the rental date for a full refund of the rental deposit, cancel 30 days before and forfeit 50% of the deposit, or cancel less than two weeks before and forfeit 100% of all rental fees. As part of its 90th anniversary, Richmond Art Center invites community members to share memories and reflections on what the center means to them.
