About

Pasitos School offers Spanish immersion with a Reggio Emilia/Project Approach that includes indoor and outdoor exploration, gardening, hiking, and feeding animals. The program includes organic healthy snacks, a play-based and child-centered curriculum, and eco-healthy child care. Teachers hold BA or BS degrees and are trained in language acquisition, and in child and adolescent development, and the program states it has the lowest student-teacher ratio in the area.

Pasitos School states that its intention is that a child’s first experience with school is joyful. The school highlights flexibility in scheduling around each family’s needs, a focus on the whole child, a guarantee of a 100% refund of all fees paid if a family is dissatisfied within the first two weeks with no questions asked, and access to Virtual Open House replays. The program notes easy access off 880 and N. 1st St for Pasitos Central and off 280 and Saratoga for Pasitos West. The school references a copyright year of 2016.

The leadership team includes Maestra Sandra as Director of Pasitos West, Maestra Alma as Director of Pasitos Central, Maestra Monica as Programs Director and Positive Discipline Parent Educator for Pasitos Central and West, and Maestra Estefany as Enrollment Director, Preschool Teacher, and Onsite Educational Coach for Pasitos Central and West. Teacher credentials include BA or BS degrees and specialized training: for example, Maestra Alma and Maestra Monica graduated from San Jose State University with degrees in Child and Adolescent Development, and some teachers took Child Development classes at De Anza College. Other staff degrees include Tourism and Hospitality Management with a Master’s in Project Management and Early Childhood Education units, a BA in Children and Adolescents in Indigenous Communities with a Master’s in Pedagogy of Social Subjects and Community Development and Basic Education, a Bachelor of Arts in English Language, a degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies, a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and an AA in Kinesiology. The program notes that Maestra Monica began her career working and volunteering in agencies that support low income families, such as Head Start and Catholic Charities.
