Champions Champ Camp states that “Champions is a safe, healthy place for your child to thrive.” The program offers daily lessons in community building and character development. It provides healthy snacks and most sites offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks, with menus that satisfy applicable federal and state nutrition guidelines and include a variety of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and calcium-rich foods. Sites may restrict which food items are served and brought in to accommodate those with food allergies. Tuition support is available, including discounts and assistance programs, and the program describes itself as affordable quality care. Families can experience fresh themes and new challenges each week during summer camp and can join during Thanksgiving week for additional programming.

Qualified and caring staff and teachers are trained in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, and they undergo extensive training on health and safety practices, including pandemic-response protocols. Staff and teachers are trained in first aid and CPR, and criminal background checks are conducted for staff. Cleaning supplies are locked safely out of children’s reach, and staff and students practice frequent hand washing. Only authorized staff and families may enter sites, all children must be signed in and out on a paper-based roster and/or computer system, and only pre-approved people with photo identification may pick up a child. Outdoor play is supervised and conducted only on safe, secure outdoor play spaces available at the school or program location. All sites include smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, there are strict policies for administering medication, and each site has an emergency evacuation plan that is tested frequently, along with an emergency plan and list of procedures posted in each classroom. A National Support Center crisis team supports each center during and after emergencies, and the program follows local health department guidelines and the guidance of the schools it operates in.
