The program’s mission includes a belief in playful learning, in children playing and connecting to the natural world, and in children and parents having a connection to community. It also states that children need to feel safe and supported by the adults in their lives, that children’s families should be woven into their lives and learning environment, and that children are natural risk-takers, explorers, creators, thinkers, doers, artists, and social change makers of the next generation. The mission further states that children should have space to ask questions and come up with their own answers, that “PLAY IS PRACTICE and WHOLE-BODY LEARNING,” that the best learning opportunities take place when a child’s whole body is engaged and they are excited and passionate about their ideas, and that children feel an innate connection with nature and deserve to be outdoors as often as possible. Animals live on the property, and the program states that these animals teach about unconditional love, stubbornness, and silliness. Throughout the year, the program marks the seasons through community celebrations and events. Muck and Wonder Farm School is a licensed full-day preschool program with license number LIC# 343622794.
