About
Children for Change is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization where students take part in volunteering, fundraising, and community service projects. C4C students engage in Action, Advocacy, and Educating Others, and C4C families volunteer with the program’s partner organizations. Partner organizations also visit as guest speakers in the classroom.
Children for Change’s mission is to empower young people to become change-makers with the knowledge, confidence, and empathy to make a positive impact in their world, and to empower youth to become global positive impact in their world. The organization envisions a just and inclusive world in which empathy, care, and social engagement are at the center of healthy communities.
Children for Change works with non-profit and community partners who visit as guest speakers in the classroom, and C4C families volunteer with these partner organizations. Children for Change is a Marin Promise Partner and has a racial equity statement. The organization has a Founders' Circle that supported the formation of C4C and has received grants from philanthropic partners including The Kehillah Fund. Youth Ambassadors hold three seats on the board as student representatives.
The leadership team includes Kelly Eyler (Lead Educator), Gail McCallister (Educator), and Caitlin Mohan (Educator), with Annelise Bauer, J.D. serving as Founder & Board Chair, Jenna Hermans as Secretary, and Ellen McGlynn as Treasurer.
A C4C member, Emma McFerron, who has been in the program for 8 years and is a 17-year-old 11th grader at Archie Williams High School, says, “I try to sign up for anything I can!”
