Aim High Summer is designed for current 5th–8th grade middle school students who have limited access to summer academic enrichment programs and is committed to a multi-summer learning experience beginning in 5th grade through 8th grade, with students expected to attend consecutive summers throughout middle school. The program is guided by CORE values of Community, Opportunity, Respect, and High Expectations, and its behavior expectations and interventions are rooted in restorative practices, including implementation of restorative practices to prevent and respond to conflict, harm, and wrongdoing. Aim High is not equipped with a full SPED department at summer program locations and is unable to provide 1:1 full day support for students.
One parent shared that Aim High has been a lifeline as a working parent, describing confidence that their child is experiencing both fun and learning, easy communication, strong program offerings, and instructors their child enjoys, as well as a chance for their child to experience middle school-style transitions between classes, different enrichment options, new sports, and mentorship.
