Exploring Music

Exploring Music offers Yamaha Group Music Lessons, Music Wonderland, Junior Music Course, Young Musicians Course, Junior Extension Course, and Private Lessons. Group lessons use the piano or keyboard as a teaching aid, and Private Lessons are 1-on-1 lessons available online via Zoom and in-person.

Programs

• Yamaha Group Music Lessons — 3-8 · 50 minutes, once a week
• Music Wonderland — 3-4 · 50 minutes, once a week · Length of course: 6-12 months. Parent participation required.
• Junior Music Course (JMC) — 4-6 · 50 minutes, once a week · Length of course: 2 years. Parent participation required.
• Young Musicians Course (YMC) — 6-8 · 50 minutes, once a week · Length of course: 3 years. Parent participation optional.
• Junior Extension Course (JXC) — 6-8 · 50 minutes, once a week · Length of course: 3 years. Parent participation optional. Prerequisite: Completion of Junior Music or Young Musicians Course.
• Private Lessons — Most students come once a week; schedule arranged with teacher · 1-on-1 lessons. Available both online via Zoom and in-person.

About the provider

Exploring Music was founded in 2002 and has been a licensed Yamaha Music Education Center since 2015. Its mission statement is, “Learn to Love Music Now you can learn to play it, too.” Yamaha teachers must have a bachelor's degree, usually in Music, and pass a qualification exam before training. The program also uses a globally recognized certification process for students as they progress through the courses.
